Following her career as international athlete and UK athletics coach, Julia gravitated towards sports psychology.  Guiding others came naturally to Julia, prompting her to train as a psychotherapist at the renowned Kensington Consultation Centre, and under the guidance of Ros Draper, one of the UK’s leading psychotherapists. Julia now works as a therapist at the highest level, using her experiences to help her clients discover their own pathway to self awareness, whether the focus is on personal development, business, relationships, or sport. www.juliaarmstrong.co.uk

Fiona Cane

about Us

The Early Years

Born in Eastbourne on 24 September 1963, Fiona Cane grew up with her two brothers. She took her A-levels at Eastbourne College and graduated from Exeter University in 1985 with a degree in Philosophy.

Career

In London she worked for Dennis Davidson Associates (DDA) a film publicity company; PolyGram; Optimum Communications; Sky and The Roehampton Club before qualifying as a tennis coach.

The Author

She began writing in 1999, fitting it in around tennis coaching and her children. In 2000, the novelist Peter James encouraged her to try to get the book published. She rewrote the book, renamed it Killing Fame and signed with Red Sail, a local independent publishing company.

She is currently writing her second novel When the Dove Cried, which will be published next year.

Family

She married Simon in 1990 after travelling around the world with him for a year. They had Holly in 1991 and Sam followed in 1994. They live in the Sussex countryside with their gorgeous Westie, Gemma. She's very much part of the family and had to be mentioned.

Hobbies

She plays tennis for Hampden Park, a tiny club with five courts. Two years ago they made it through the National Club League to the last eight clubs in the country. Now that's a story in itself! She skis, scuba dives, plays squash, reads prolifically, is an avid film buff, and enjoys the theatre.
